Il fallait se lever tôt pour participer à ce petit-déjeuner officiel pour les fans, 7h30 du matin ! Dur quand on vient de passer 10 heures dans l’avion … Pour être honnête, j’avais le sentiment que ce serait le lieu où on saurait enfin quand et où aurait lieu Celebration V mais apparemment je n’ai pas trop été branché sur la Force sur ce coup-là ! Le contrat avec l’organisateur n’ayant pas été officiellement signé, il faudra attendre un peu pour l’annonce définitive.
Revenons au petit-déjeuner qui a été parfaitement géré et présenté par Anne Neumann et ses troupes. Anne est le co-auteur du fantastique livre 1,000 Collectibles qui est littéralement indispensable pour tous les fans ! Ce fut l’occasion de ramener plein de petits souvenirs et produits dérivés, la perfection est dans les détails et l’équipe d’Anne s’en est chargé ! C’était bon d’y être.
Steve Sansweet a présenté une grande partie du petit-déjeuner et a présenté Dave Filoni, Directeur de la Série animée Clone Wars et James Arnold Taylor, la voix d’Obi-Wan dans cette même série, qui a passé pratiquement tout le petit-déjeuner à dédicacer des cartes spécialement prévues pour l’événement.
Une tombola a également été organisée et ce fut une bonne opportunité de gagner une carte dédicacée par Georges Lucas himself ! Qui n’aimerait pas posséder un autographe du Créateur ? Pas de chances pour nous, on ne l’a pas ramenée avec nous mais le bon coté a été que de nombreux enfants ont gagné des prix (la carte de Georges Lucas y compris), ce qui est fondamentalement une bonne chose puisque finalement ces enfants représentent le futur de Star Wars.
Le petit-déjeuner a également vu notre Michel « SHS » national signer son livre pour Steve Sansweet, premier autographe pour une sommité de l’univers Star Wars, ça ne s’oublie pas … Et puis quel livre ! Ce fut également un bon moyen pour nous Européens de manger un vrai petit-déjeuner US et on l’a franchement apprécié. Deux heures et demie plus tard, ce fut le moment de se préparer pour le vrai début de la Convention. Merci à Anne et Steve et toutes les personnes concernées, c’est un moment que nous n’oublierons pas !
The meeting was quite early (jet lag included) for a convention, around 7:30 am, but we had to attend this Official Fan Breakfast. To be honest, I had the feeling this could be the place where we could finally know the date and place of much awaited Celebration V, but it appeared I was not too strong with the Force on that one ! The contract with the company that will take care of the organization was not finalized yet so we will have to wait for the final announcement.
Well, let’s back to the breakfast, perfectly managed and presented by Anne Neumann and her troopers. Anne is the co-author of the terrific book 1,000 Collectibles which is a must-have for every single fan! The breakfast was also the place to get many great little souvenirs and collectibles, the perfection are in the details and Anne’s team took care of them! It was good to be there.
Steve Sansweet presented most of the breakfast and introduced Dave Filoni, Director of Clone Wars series and James Arnold Taylor, voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the series that signed throughout the breakfast special cards to all the people who were there.
A raffle was also organized and it was the good opportunity to win of very nice card autographed by Georges Lucas himself! Who could miss the autograph of the Creator? Unluckily we did not win but the good thing is many kids won prizes (Georges autograph included, damn!), which is fair because the future of Star Wars relies in kids.
The breakfast was also the time when Michel « SHS » signed his book for Steve Sansweet himself, what a great book you did Michel! It was also for us (European people) to enjoy a real US breakfast and we did enjoy it. Two hours and half later, it was time to be ready for the start of the convention. Thanks Anne and Steve and all the people involved, it was a moment that will be remembered!
